arf2017headerThe Arizona Renaissance Festival is one of the largest of the Renaissance events in the nation because it is really five Festivals all rolled into a giant costumed fantasy village spread across 30-acres of adventure and entertainment for the whole family! It’s an enchanted world full of Kings and Queens, Lords and Ladies, Knights, Nobles, Fairies, Elves, Mermaids, Pirates, Barbarians and other fanciful interactive characters.

Guests will be entertained by a marvelous assortment of unique performers: musicians, magicians, acrobats, jugglers, dancers, comedy, storytelling, and live anachronism with hundreds of daily performances on over 13 stages and pavilions throughout the village. There are also three daily jousting tournaments and several demonstrations in the ancient art of falconry.

arizona-renaissance-fest-joustingSoar into the sky on the Assault Catapult, ride The Piccolo Pony – the world’s largest rocking horse, take a spin on Da Vinci’s Flying Machine or sail the high seas on the Voyage to the New World. The Festival’s unique “people-powered” rides provide merriment for the entire family!

Test your abilities at the Festival’s many games: target-shooting with bow or crossbow, storming the castle in a paintball battle, figure out an interactive maze, or throw a tomato at an insulting peasant at Vegetable Justice. For those patrons in the mood for an extreme challenge you can test your physical mettle at the Climbing Tower or show your warrior side throwing a battle axe.

In addition, there are over 200 shoppes in the Artisan Marketplace featuring some of the finest works of artists, artisans, and merchants as well as live demonstrations by craftspeople skilled in the arts of glass blowing, weaving, pottery making, blacksmithing, woodcarving, candle making, and more. It’s a shopper’s paradise!

Other staples of the park include a petting zoo, several live performances, and a wide selection of food and drinks from all over the world to please every palate and quench every thirst. Some of the favorites include: ‘steak on a stake’, sausages, turkey legs, fresh-baked bread bowls, enticing sweets as well as the exclusive day-long Pleasure Feast with royalty! Be sure to wear comfortable shoes for you journey through time, your feet will be grateful!
