Top 5 Places to Watch the Solar Eclipse in Arizona
The eagerly awaited solar eclipse is almost here! On Monday, August 21, a total eclipse will pass right through the United States from Oregon to South Carolina. While Arizona is outside of the path of totality, we’ll still have a great view of a partial eclipse! Here are the best places to view and celebrate this special event.
1. Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff
The world-renowned Lowell Observatory will be a hosting an all-day party in celebration of this momentous event including tours, talks, activities, and a live streaming of the total eclipse over Oregon.
Cost: $15 for general admission; $8 for ages 5-17; free for kids age 4 and under.
Viewing time: The partial eclipse will be viewable in Flagstaff from 9:13am-12:01pm peaking at 10:34am.

2. Meteor Crater
Arizona’s most famous astronomical attraction is hosting a one-of-a-kind viewing party and even giving away free eclipse glasses! Glasses are only available while supplies last so we recommend you arrive early- doors open at 7am.
Cost: $18 for adults; $16 for seniors; $9 for ages 6-17; $9 for veterans; free for active military.
Viewing time: The partial eclipse will be viewable at Meteor Crater from 9:15am-12:03pm peaking at 10:36am.

3. The Arizona Science Center
The Arizona Science Center’s viewing party will feature fun hands-on activities to learn about the eclipse and will provide free viewing glass to the first 500 guests!
Cost: $18; $13 for ages 3-17.

4. The School or Earth and Space Exploration at ASU
The School or Earth and Space Exploration at ASU is hosting a viewing party complete with telescopes and safe-viewing glasses for guests to use while watching the eclipse!
