Waste Management Phoenix Open
Known as “The Greatest Show on Grass,” The Waste Management Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale has no problem living up to its name.
In addition to playing host to the greatest players in the game, the tournament is the PGA TOUR’s best attended golf tournament – drawing more than 618,000 enthusiastic fans attending in 2016.
The Waste Management Phoenix Open kicks off the year with a bang, as one of the first events on the PGA TOUR calendar. Unlike any other tournament in the world, spectators become central to the event – helping to transform the famous 16th hole into “The Coliseum” – and the loudest hole in golf.
Formerly known as The Phoenix Open and The FBR Open, the event has been hosted by TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course since 1987. The tournament benefits The Phoenix Thunderbirds, host of the WMPO, who raised a record $9.3M for local charities through proceeds raised from the tournament. The Thunderbirds and WMPO together have raised more than $45M for the area’s most deserving charities organizations since 2010 when Waste Management became the title sponsor.
This event starts January 30 and runs until February 5. For additional information about purchasing tickets, maps of the course, charities, and directions, please visit their website at Waste Management Phoenix Open.
